Description
The Barco ScreenPRO-II HD Switcher with 3G EOC features an EOC (expanded output card) attached to the back of the switcher, adding more memory and the ability to mirror programs or preview outs. Where normally the switcher can store only 3 logos, and with the EOC up to 100 images can be pre-stored. The added outputs consist of a 3G/HD/SD-SDI and YUV on five BNCs (two of them for H/V sync). The switcher runs on a 10-bit Athena processor and uses four image layers to produce sophisticated transitioning backgrounds, transitioning picture-in-picture windows, wipes, dissolves, and keys. Transition times can be set to as quick as zero. That, a low processing delay of a max of three input fields, and two scalers allow for clean switching. The switcher features twelve inputs, two scalers, and three program-outs that all show one image at one resolution. Ten of the twelve inputs can be scaled, and the other two can run at full screen. Of the ten scalable, two are SD/HD-SDI inputs and eight are 15-pin analog inputs that accept HD inputs via optional adapters from Barco's Switcher Cable Kit. Scaler 1 begins to function as soon as an input is selected, and Scaler 2 begins as soon as a second input is selected, affording cleaner switching from one source to another. All the inputs support resolutions up to 2048 x 1080p. The non-scalable inputs are DVI. The program outs are a DVI and two 15-pin inputs that are also HD-convertible by adapters. Three linked program outs allow the convenience of connecting to additional projectors without using a splitter. Using the switcher's menu, different backgrounds can be selected, including full-screen color backgrounds or full-screen logos. The EOC operates in two different modes -- primary and auxiliary. In primary output mode, the card provides interlaced or serial digital formats at the same resolution as the main program and preview outputs of the switcher, and with no delay. In auxiliary output mode, the card supplies interlaced or serial digital formats but at different resolutions from the program and preview outputs. The auxiliary mode has a frame delay from the program and preview outputs. In both modes, outputs from the card can be used for recording or to display on a monitor.
